The current lockdown has been extended until March 2, 2021. Outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte and outgoing Minister Hugo de Jonge announced this on February 2 during the corona press conference.
Here you will find the most important measures, which apply until at least March 2, 2021:
- Do not receive more than 1 person at home aged 13 or older per day.
- Visit someone else no more than once a day.
- Work at home. Only people who are essential to the progress of a business process and who cannot perform their work from home are allowed to come to work.
- Only the performance of (para) medical contact professions is allowed, the performance of other contact professions is prohibited.
- Only go out with members of your household or with a group consisting of a maximum of 2 people.
- There is a curfew from 9:00 pm to 4:30 am. Between these times it is forbidden to take to the streets without a valid reason.
- A maximum of 50 people may be present at a funeral.
- Most locations are closed:
- Shops (except essential shops). Ordering and pick-up at retail stores is possible.
- Locations of contact professions, such as hairdressers and nail salons.
- Theaters, concert halls, casinos, etc.
- Animal parks, amusement parks etc.
- Indoor sports locations, such as gyms, swimming pools, saunas, wellness, etc.
- Restaurants and cafes (hotels are open, but restaurants and room service are closed).
- Educational institutions mainly provide distance education.
- Primary schools and childcare for children aged 0-4 years are open.
- Out-of-school care is closed.
- Children up to and including 17 years old are allowed to play sports as a team and can play matches among themselves, provided they do so outside. Adults are allowed sport alone or in pairs, and also exclusively outdoors.
- Only use public transport for strictly necessary journeys.
- Stay in the Netherlands. Do not travel abroad and do not book foreign travel until March. There are travel restrictions.
On February 23, 2021, the government will review the measures and look at what measures are needed from 2 March.
Do not forget:
- Always keep a distance of 1.5 meters.
- Avoid places where it is crowded.
- Sneeze and cough into your elbow.
- Wash your hands often with soap.
- Put on a mouth mask where necessary.
- Do you have a cold? Then stay at home!
- Do you have a fever or are you short of breath? Then all housemates must stay at home.
